Flights
- to Scotland
We do not normally arrange transatlantic or transcontinental air travel
for Guests travelling to/from Scotland. Its not that we cant
do it, or that we don't want to do it but, generally speaking, we
find it difficult to match some of the deals you can arrange for yourselves
at local travel agents in your home countries.
We are happy to advise of routes which experience tells us are the
more user-friendly options, and likewise happy to advise on the Airlines
who regularly offer best prices to assist you check out the alternatives
for yourself.
However, if you require assistance with your flights into Scotland
we are delighted to assist, obtain quotations for you, and include
such costs in your Package price.
Flights - to/from
Ireland, Wales, France, Italy and England
While we are rarely asked to arrange Internal Flights within Scotland,
we do often make such arrangements for Guests linking their Scottish
visit to Ireland, Wales, France, Italy and England.
Many Guests travelling all the way across the Atlantic, or from the
other side of the World, naturally wish to see as much as possible
and will try to pay short visits elsewhere on their way into Scotland,
or on the way home again with the most popular destinations being
Dublin, Cardiff, Paris, Rome and London. We are happy to make internal
flight arrangements linking any of the places mentioned together with
accommodation and airport transfers as required. |

Internal
Transport
One of the major decisions to be made about our vacation package
in Scotland is your preferred mode of transport.
We always meet our Guests at their arrival airport in Scotland and
offer a complimentary transfer to either their first night's accommodation
or, possibly, to a Car Rental Depot. Likewise we arrange complimentary
transfers to your departure airport at the end of the trip. However,
during the course of your stay in Scotland there are alternatives:

Self Drive Car Rental
For some of you, we drive on the 'wrong' side of the road and the
driver sits at the 'wrong' side of the car. However, experience
tells us our Guests enjoy driving in Scotland where, with the exception
of cities where we recommend public transport, most find the experience
enjoyable and stress free.
However, once in the Highlands and Islands be prepared to slow down
to the local pace of life. If sheep or cattle happen to wander into
the roadway, remember they are the natives and have every right
to be there. Ask them nicely and, more often than not they will
move. If not, switch the engine off and read a book ... Theres
always tomorrow!
Car / 7 Seat Van
/ Bus with your own Driver
Your driver might be a fully qualified "Scottish Tourist Guide"
or merely a good driver with acute knowledge of the geography and
routes but without the Tour Guide qualification.
Many of our Guests prefer the basic driver, as he/she is a more
economical option for tours where they just wish to be driven throughout
their chosen Route/Itinerary.
However, for those Guests wishing highly detailed information about
the places they will pass or visit on their travels in Scotland,
or who have a particular interest in Scottish History, the Tour
Guide option is obviously the better choice.
Train / Bus / Ferry
We can arrange all forms of public transport throughout Scotland
although it should be noted that travellers to the Islands and other
remote parts of the mainland, might find geographical features make
these options slightly less favourable than travel without the constraints
of timetables.
If you are interested in using public transport services, we will
be happy to assist in drawing up as full a package as possible for
you.
